Class Offerings

Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
The Canine Good Citizen program, created by the American Kennel Club in 1989, teaches dogs basic obedience and good manners at home and in public. Each class prepares handlers and their dogs for the CGC test, with the final session offering the official evaluation. Dogs that pass receive paperwork to submit to the AKC for an official CGC certificate, and the CGC is now recognized as an AKC title for registered dogs.

Obedience Maintenance & Extension
This class is appropriate for both companion and competition dogs. Dogs should already demonstrate reliable loose-leash walking and basic sit and down-stay skills to enroll. The curriculum builds beyond foundational obedience, introducing skills such as fronts and finishes, touch-pad work, figure-eight heeling, as well as group exercises and training games designed to enhance precision and teamwork. This class is not suitable for reactive dogs.

Rally Courses and Sign Practice
This drop-in class is designed for dogs 6 months and older to practice rally signs at all levels. The fee is $20 per class or $90 for all six sessions. Dogs should be comfortable working around others, able to walk on a loose leash, and respond reliably to basic commands such as sit, down, and stay. This class is not suitable for reactive dogs.

Obedience Foundations
Foundation obedience class open to dogs 4 months and older. The foundations of Name Recognition, Sit (Stay), Down (Stay), Leash Walking, Recall (Coming when called), and Leave-It will be introduced and practiced with an introduction to proofing exercises. Lure-Reward based training methodology will be utilized. This is not a class for reactive dogs.
