Service Description

The Canine Good Citizen program was started by the American Kennel Club in 1989. It is designed to test a dog's basic obedience skills, that show the dog has good manners at home and in public. Handlers and their dogs will practice the skills needed to successfully pass the CGC test. The last class consists of an official CGC test. Owners of dogs that pass the test will receive paperwork they can submit to AKC to receive an official certificate conferring the award of a CGC. AKC now recognizes CGC as an official title for AKC registered dogs! The first class is without dogs followed by 6 weeks of instruction In keeping with the Parks and Rec Covid guidelines classes are being limited to 6 dogs per class. Social distancing will be maintained, and no spectators will be allowed. Due to being outdoors vaccinated class participants will not be required to wear a mask.
